5. SOUNDBITE (English) Oprah Winfrey, creator/executive producer - on the difference between diversity and inclusiveness:
"I used to use the word diversity all the time. I stand corrected because I think the better word as indicated, not just shown, by Ava, is inclusiveness. The difference is you can have a lot of people who are in your business, in your arena, in your life, and say, 'Oh gee, I have diversity. I'm exposed.' The important thing is that those people are included at the table where the decisions are made that are going to affect them and the organization, that are going to be able to impact what actually gets done and what is actually accomplished. That's the difference between 'Oh we are diverse' and the difference between 'We are including people who are a part of the decision-making that can make a difference, not just in their lives, but in the lives that we're projecting to.' That is the difference. Thank you."

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Ava DuVernay, writer/director/executive producer - on executing her goal of inclusiveness:
"Well you know, we made it fill the goal. Folks that are in positions to be able to construct these environments have a choice: they can be monocultural or they can be multicultural, they can be inclusive or they can be exclusive. And far too often this industry has been exclusive to people who don't look like me - not women, not people of color. And so our goal when I got an opportunity to create it for myself I said, 'Well I'm going to make it look like what it should be, which is open to everyone.'"
